Our community site is located at WilyWriters.net.
Wily Writers LLC has a decade-long history of working with, supporting, and publishing writers. We began in 2009 with the Wily Writers website, where we published short stories in text and audio written by some of the most talented emerging authors of the day. All in all, we published over 70 stories through the years, and helped launch the careers of numerous writers. We're quite proud of that.
Due to time constraints, costs, and the allure of new projects, we quit doing the short fiction website in 2019 and turned our attention to indie publishing and finding other avenues through which we could reach and support writers.
The idea for this shop resulted from a day spent trying to find just the right gift for a writer friend of mine. I'm Angel Leigh McCoy, the boss at Wily Writers and webmaster for the Horror Writers Association. I spend all day on the computer, and I couldn't easily find any good gifts for writers. I googled and searched Amazon, and I found some items that worked, but it took far too long. I discovered there was a dearth of helpful curated gift lists for writers, so I decided to put one together myself.
Our goal is to save you time by giving you an awesome and unique list of products that any writer would love.
We'll be adding new products on a regular basis, so check back often.
We hope you find something here that will make your writer (and you) happy.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you wish.
Our curator is Angel Leigh McCoy. She is the creative force behind the Wyrdwood novel series and the Dire Multiverse world. She has had more than 25 short stories published and has made it into two “Best of” anthologies, including Best Women’s Erotica of the Year 5 (2019) and an honorable mention in Ellen Datlow’s Best Horror of the Year 4 (2012).
DARK WAS THE NIGHT contains a collection of her short horror stories, not for the weak of heart. Her list of publications spans two decades worth of written word. Keep an eye on her whirlwind at AngelMcCoy.com and @angelmccoy on Twitter and Facebook.
The items we carry are of particular interest to writers and those who want to find a special gift for a writer.
The honest answer is: it varies. Especially with Covid-19 still affecting travel and workforces, your shipment may take up to six weeks. We can't meet Amazon standards, since we don't have their infrastructure.
In addition some of the better shipping companies are closing their doors because of travel restrictions, so we're having to remain flexible. We have made every effort to take the burden of shifting shipping costs onto ourselves, so you won't have to worry about that.
Please be patient, but if you're worried, don't hesitate to query about your order at email@example.com. We can check whether it's been shipped or not.
Depending on where you are in the world, your shipping costs will vary.
At the moment, we are restricting our sales only to the United States (incl. territories and military), Canada, and the UK. We apologize to all other countries and hope to soon expand our reach. Please bear with us as we lay down the foundation to do so.

Yes, wherever it makes sense. Affiliate links don't affect your experience at all. The company pays us a small (read: very small) compensation for us sharing their product. We only share items that we believe in, so you don't have to worry that we're sharing any ol' thing just to get the few cents they give us. However, every little bit helps, so we use affiliate links wherever we can.
What is an affiliate link?
Many companies give a small payback to sites like ours that send customers their way. This is part of their promotion/marketing budget and does not come out of your pocket in any way.
How do you use affiliate links?
We often refer you to sites that we think have great items or great ideas, but we don't actually carry their products ourselves.
Don't you lose money when we go somewhere else to buy?
Yes. But it's more important to us that you have amazing options to choose from. We are here to serve you, not to give a hard sell or outdo our competitors. Because there are some fantastic products out there that we wish we could carry and that we know you will love!
How does using an affiliate link affect my cost?
Not at all. You pay the same as everyone else at the site you go to. The token amount we receive for referring you does not come out of your pockets. It comes out of theirs.
